1. Is this for an AC-3 solicitation, or an MCO solicitation?: This is not a solicitation. The Ohio Municipal League has selected CareWorksComp as the Program administrator.

2. I am unhappy with the how the notification was done for the change to CareWorksComp. Why wasn't the notification handled differently?: We apologize for any confusion you may be experiencing due to the messaging. OML and CareWorksComp are trying to assist with an organized transition. We are unfortunately unable to control the communications being sent from CompManagement. They are understandably unhappy about the change and their messaging will certainly reflect their displeasure.

3. Do I pay CareWorksComp?: No, not at this time. CareWorksComp has agreed to service OML members at no cost for the January 1, 2019 rate year. You will not be billed by CareWorksComp until early 2019 for the 2020 rate year.

4. What if I paid CompManagement already?: CareWorksComp will service your account at no cost. You will not be double charged. CareWorksComp considers this an investment in our relationship.

5. CompManagement is saying OML does not have the wherewithal to file Group Rating or Group Retrospective Rating Programs because they have lost members?: This is false. The Ohio Municipal League has had and continues to have the ability to have both Group Rating and Group Retrospective Rating Programs. OML has simply chosen to switch administrators (TPAs) due to the lack of service OML members were receiving from CompManagement meaning the existing group plans are moving from CompManagement to CareWorksComp effective 4/25/18.

6. CompManagement has told me they will file my organization in another Association (Ohio Assn of Public Treasurers, etc). Can they do that because I would like to be with them?: The BWC has switched the representation of the OML Group to CareWorksComp. At this point, CareWorksComp is the administrator for all OML Group and Group Retro plans. While CompManagement may try to coerce you into staying with them, the entire group has been moved to CareWorksComp. However, please know that CompManagement has no group for you to participate in currently.

7. CompManagement tells me that if I do not sign an AC-2, hearings will be missed?: CareWorksComp currently has access to any and all information on your claims. Hearing Dockets are generally set 3 weeks in advance. CareWorksComp is diligently identifying upcoming hearings. However, if you are aware of a Hearing, please let us know right away.

1. How do I access the magazine online?: Online magazine access is member benefit. If your municipality is a current member of the OML first you will need to create an account online then email Zoë at zwade@omlohio.org so she can add the access to your account.

2. Can I register online for an upcoming event?: Yes you can now register and pay online for upcoming events.

3. Can I pay for registration fees with a credit card?: Yes, You are now able to register and pay online for conferences and seminars.

4. How much are membership dues for my municipality?: Membership dues are based on census population for the municipality. Please contact the OML office for municipality specific information.

5. Can the OML assist me with a legal question?: Member Municipalities should first contact their solicitor or law director with any legal questions. If the solicitor or law director needs assistance or further clarification, our legal counsel on staff can assist them.

6. When can I register to be an exhibitor at the OML Annual Conference?: Exhibitor information is generally mailed out two months prior to the conference and can be found on our site under conference information.

7. When do you offer Mayor's Court Training?: We offer the six-hour initial courses at the beginning of each year. We will hold the initial training in January and February following a municipal election. On subsequent years, we will only hold initial training in January. We offer the three-hour refresher courses three times per year in August (magistrates only), October and November. You can find the upcoming mayor's court training dates on our calendar of events. *Please be sure to register early for all training. If we do not have enough registrants at least a month prior to the training class, it is subject to cancellation.

8. Am I required to take mayor's court training annually?: Following the six hour initial training requirements, the Mayor or Magistrate shall receive each year, three hours of continuing education for offenses other than alcohol and drug related traffic offenses and another three hours of continuing education in cases related to alcohol and drug related traffic offenses, if they hear first offense OVI cases. It is the responsibility of each individual to know what courses they need to take each year.

9. What happens if I miss a three-hour mayor's court refresher class?: If you miss a three-hour mayor's court refresher class, you can move your registration to the next available class. If there is not another scheduled class in the calendar year, you must retake the six-hour initial class in order to be certified to preside over court. You have the option of hiring a certified magistrate to preside over court until your certification is current.

10. How many municipalities are there in Ohio?: There are currently 931 municipalities in Ohio; 247 cities and 684 villages.
